At Masonic Children & Family Services of Texas (MCFS), we understand the unique challenges faced by widows of Texas Master Masons. For over 125 years, we’ve upheld a tradition of providing compassionate support and resources to help widows navigate life after loss.
The Blue Slipper Program
Expanding Our Reach
MCFS is proud to offer a new statewide program specifically designed to help widows of Texas Master Masons remain independent and thrive in their own homes. The Blue Slipper Program provides support in several key areas:
Dental and Medical Services
Financial assistance to ease the burden of healthcare costs.
Health Maintenance Supplies
Funding for essential items like grab bars and wheelchair ramps to ensure safety and accessibility at home.
Prescription Assistance
Help covering the often-significant costs of medications.
Counseling Services
Emotional support and guidance during a difficult time.
Durable Medical Equipment
Assistance with the cost of walkers, wheelchairs, and other essential equipment.
Basic Needs
Aid with food, clothing, and utilities when facing financial hardships.
Community Resources
Referrals to local support groups, services, and organizations that can provide additional assistance.
Qualified Funeral Costs
For Master Masons (on widow’s behalf).
Who’s Eligible for the Blue Slipper Program?
All widows of Texas Master Masons in good standing before their passing and residing in the state of Texas are eligible for these valuable services.
Texas Masonic Retirement Center (TMRC)
In partnership with the Texas Masonic Retirement Center (TMRC) in Arlington, MCFS offers a full-care program for qualified widows of Texas Master Masons. This program provides:
- Comfortable accommodations
- Nutritious meals
- Engaging activities
- Supportive community
- And many other amenities
Eligibility for TMRC:
To be eligible for placement at TMRC, the following requirements must be met:
- Widow of a Texas Master Mason in good standing for at least five years before his passing.
- Good overall health and the ability to live independently.
- Willingness to transfer assets to the Masonic Children & Family Services of Texas in exchange for lifelong care.
